ἱνα + subjuctive used in various ways

  • complementary (with verbs like, “I want…”)
  • indirect commands/requests (similar to use of ὁτι)
  • (mitigated) imperitival ἱνα

Other uses of the subjunctive:

  • indefinate clauses (ὁς ἀν…)
  • hortatory (1st person pl, “Let us…”)
  • deliberative (1st person)
  • Prohibition (μη + aor subj)
  • Emphatic Future Negative (οὐ μη…)
